How To Make Money From Home: Selling on Poshmark.

For the past few months I have been promoting Poshmark heavily on social media. During that time I had just moved out of my parents house. I was broke and I needed some quick cash to buy Christmas presents. Since I'm a full time hoarder I decided to sell some of my stuff. I had dealt with eBay for years but I found it extremely frustrating. Not only that but they take a HUGE chunk of your earnings, there is hidden fees everywhere. That's when I stumbled upon Poshmark.

Poshmark is an app where you can sell your stuff and shop the closets of girls around the country. When the buyer accepts the package you can get the money deposited into your bank account or use it to shop. For all sales under $15, they take a fee of $2.95. For anything over $15, they take 20%. That's all, no listing fees or anything else.

Once you make a sale, you get an email with the shipping label attached. All Poshmark orders ship by Priority Mail. That means that all you have to do is get one of the free Priority boxes from the post office, stick the label, and send it off to your customer!

Simple enough, right?

While it's fairly simple, starting can be difficult. Here I've listed some tips that have helped me so far:

  • Be Social. Interact with other Poshers, follow and share their items. Chances are they will share and follow back.
  • Take Good Pictures. You don't have to have a fancy camera. I take all my pictures using my phone. But do make sure you have a clean background. This will make your item stand out. Also, make sure the picture is clear. Don't go filter crazy!
  • Be Honest. If your item has a defect, describe it and take a picture. Honesty goes a long way, and you don't want negative feedback!
  • Ship Fast. It's hard to be patient when you have an amazing purchase coming to you. Be considerate, try to ship as soon as you get your order. Your costumer will appreciate it.
  • Take Time To Package It. Cute packaging is a must! I always include a small bracelet, stickers, and a handwritten thank you note. I wrap in tissue paper and top it off with a ribbon. I always get amazing love notes (Posh feedback) on how much they love their package. While I choose to do that, you don't have to. I know it gets expensive. A simple thank you note will do.

Those are a few things that have helped me so far. Don't forget to follow me @ERENSNCHZ!

Questions? Want me to cover something else? Hit me up! I'll be more than happy to blog about my Posh adventures!
